The information center of the town of Svitavy is located on the ground floor of the house "At the Moor´s" at 48 Peace Square (námestí Míru). It was originally a house privileged to brew beer, and later connected to the neighbouring Town Hall. It originally stood on stone foundations and had a vaulted cellar. Its wooden extension was unfortunately burnt down in 1590 during the first reported fire of the town. The house was owned by people who were important in Svitavy's political life and some burgomasters lived in it. Later it was converted into a roadside inn which offered its services until 1927.
The information center was established and is operated by the town of Svitavy. It provides information about landmarks, workshops, firms, shops, accommodation, boarding and trips. But the center is also ready to inform you about the plans and activities of the municipal authorities whenever you show an interest. You can buy souvenirs or picture postcards of Svitavy in the office.
